Bear A rout Shoes

Happy New Year !
A great start to 2007 from The Bear A team with a 5-1 thrashing, handed out to the Four Horseshoes away. All 4 singles games were won without fuss, and without Geoff, including a Bull finish from yours truly. Jacko & Piglet decided they didn't want the team shirts on offer for a whitewash, so contrived to lose their doubles game, by playing shite; I'm personally very grateful to them for saving me the expense. The Plough are up next, and the offer still stands; 6-0 and you get the shirts. The good news is we are at home on Thursday, and therefore the toilets are:-
a) inside b) clean c) equipped with running water.
Isn't it great to be in the 21st century ? Seriously thanks to Phil, the new landlord, and his staff for being so hospitable, and for providing us with wet wipes. I have made a note of those who declined to use them!
It was reassuring to return to The Bear last week and discover The B Team made a similar start to their campaign with a 5-1 of their own- or rather a 1-5 ! Congrats to Pete for stopping the dreaded whitewash. Captain Ian has promised to motivate the team by taking them for a drive in his bus before the game; they'll be so pleased to be alive that they will play magnificently.

"Jacko and Piglet played shite?" SHITE? I'll have you know young Timbo me lad I were playing darts afore ye were BORN. Admittedly I played shite at the time as well. Anyway it was Piglet's fault. Drop 'im.
Yes, the wipes were handy, especially to clear up the copious explosion of surprise-induced saliva caused by your flukey bull 'out'. Now fuck off. (Can you say that on a blog?)

Sounds like I missed all the fun, but at least I got a mention!

I would have loved to be embrace Phil as the new landlord of the Shoes. He, I, Brakspears & The Shoes go back to last century. I served my dartship at this pub in the 80's!

Anyway on to victory (and excellent dart food) tomorrow night. I shall return.

Geoffrow.

ps. Tim is an excellent dart player and fully worthy of the bull he produced.

Thanks for the launch of attack on Piggals I feel like Dave Latimar with all this abuse!!!
Phil I think you were looking at the wrong pig using the ladies. I did think about it instead of making the lengthy journey through the wilderness to the mens 'shit house' but it seemed an experience i might live to regret!
Mr Jackson...Well thanks for passing the blame nice to see we have a strong alliance in our team, remind me to buy you a pint!!
In my defence i had left my darts at the bear and so was at a disadvantage from the start!
As for Tims bull finish twas good to see the place erupted in celabration as it was hit, however complete luck and think Geoff should stop trying to scrounge a free pint!!
What a start to season COME ON THE BEAR!!!

The second half of the season got of to a great start with a 5 – 1 win at the Four Horseshoes
As you know we are still waiting for the famous T shirts for our 6-0 win but we are all being creative designing what we should have on the back with some wicked suggestions coming from Jacko! We can’t decide what to put on the back of the landlord shirt so any suggestions welcome (keep it clean please).

Thought you might like to know the statistics for the first half of the season, I record all scores over 90 and all Ton plus scores so here is the state of play so far.

Ton + 90 +
Wally 27 2
Tim 25 4
Geoff 20 3
Ken 12 1
Piglet 9
Dave 4 2
Jacko 1

It’s the double that count so how about the singles wins, Tim is in the lead with 4 wins, Geoff with 3, Wally and the Skip 2 a piece and Ken with 1. Piglet and Jacko are yet to win a singles game is this surprising? This may look a big bad for the skipper but it is fair to say he has only played 2 games in the first half.

Strange but True
• During the game against The Plough Jacko fell asleep; his snoring was louder than the cheering as we drew 3.3.
• At the Sprat, in his singles game Tim scored 11 ton plus and still managed to loose 3-2
• Also at The Sprat Ken scored The Bear’s first 180

The above score should read
Ton plus
Wally 27
Tim 25
Geoff 20
Ken 12
Piglet 9
Dave 4
Paul 1

90 plus
Ken 6
Tim 4
Piglet 3
Geoff 3
Wally 2

My appologies too many southern comforts !!
